Presentation on the overall project, the line-drawing tools available to the public, the project schedule, and initial public hearing on the how the districts should be drafted.

Thursday, August 10th, 5:30 pm

Community workshop at El Toro Branch Library, 24672 Raymond Way, Lake Forest, 92630, to inform and educate the public on district-based elections.

Thursday, August 17th, 6:30 pm

Second community workshop at Lake Forest Sports Park and Recreation Center, 28000 Rancho Parkway, Lake Forest, 92630, to inform and educate the public on district-based elections.

Tuesday, September 5 (Regular Council Meeting)

Second public hearing a to solicit “input regarding the composition of the districts” prior to drawing the draft maps, and to demonstrate use of the ‘public participation kit’ map-drawing tools.

Tuesday, September 19

Deadline for initial map submissions from the public.

Sunday, September 24

Draft maps posted to project website

Tuesday, October 3 (Regular Council Meeting)

Council  hearing to solicit “input regarding the content of the draft maps and the proposed sequence of elections.”

Tuesday, November 7 (Regular Council Meeting)

Council  hearing to solicit “input regarding the content of the draft maps and the proposed sequence of elections.”

Tuesday, December 5

Council holds public hearing, selects a map and introduces the Ordinance making the change to by-district elections.

Tuesday, December 19

Council has 2nd reading and final adoption of Ordinance.

November, 2018

Two districts hold their first by-district elections.

November, 2020

Remaining districts hold their first by-district elections.
